Essence of each workshop
While the honeybee is the most written about creature in the insect world, still much remains a mystery. Their mystical power of communication and Love can lead us to deep insights into the world of soul and spirit. My passion for the vulnerable honeybees in our world today is the doorway through which I invite those who are grieving to enter.
The essence of each workshop is that hand rolling beeswax candles creates a unique closeness and warmth and turning of the heart towards the one who has died.
My special candle making workshops with growing numbers of bereavement professionals, families, friends and individuals have strengthened my trust and confidence that honeybees and hand rolling candles do indeed provide a safe and grounded opening to soul and spirit connection with the one who has died.
Sharing new memories
People who have made candles talk about sharing memories, stories and receiving new appreciation of the one who died. They are soothed and comforted by the natural fragrance and beauty of the candles they make and decorate. They share eagerly and sometimes tenderly about something new in their heart awareness. They appreciate the details, organization and my gentleness during the workshops. They are delightfully surprised at how the qualities of their loved one come alive through the making of their candle.
Taking their candle home and lighting it becomes a way to remember the courage they found in their heart. The lit candle becomes a living invitation to turn their hearts towards the one who died.
Basics
The length of workshops varies with complexity of candles made and heart meditations incorporated. Workshops can be adapted into other formats depending on your situation. Some examples are: Memorial Services using heart meditations; workshops at Conferences, Retreats, Bereavement/Hospice Staff , Caregiver and Volunteer Training Days,.
Regardless, each workshop includes a meditation to listen in your heart, shared stories of honeybees, all wax materials, respectful guidance for the candle completion, a sharing together, suggestions for ongoing practice as well as care for your candle.
